ANNOUNCEMENT: Local training for the 2009-10 alternate assessment has been scheduled for Oct. 7 8:30-11:30. All teachers who are planning or considering giving the alternate this year MUST attend at least the first half of this training to learn about the changes. The second half of the training is being designed for teachers new to the alternate. NOTE: a follow-up training might be scheduled specifically for those new to the assessment if we don't have enough time to cover things on Oct. 7. Alicia 9/25/09

ANNOUNCEMENT: Big changes are coming for this year's Alternate Assessment. Some we'll like (all indicators are eligible this year regardless of student's score from last year! Yay!) and some we won't (no "functional activities" may be used for assessment--what??? I'll let you know when I know more). It is recommended that anyone giving the KAA this year be retrained to learn the new requirements (and there are a bunch of them). Also, be very aware of the deadlines because there are some early ones (like Sept. 1). Alicia 8/3/2009
